Very Exciting News!!

I've been asked to do a weekly blog for the USEA website! I'm SO EXCITED!! I can't thank Emily Daily enough for thinking of me and asking me to do it. I just sent in my first entry; I'll post the link here when it gets published (a word that sends a very happy shiver up my spine!!).

Congrats! I'm a new reader to your blog, after stumbling upon it, and I have to say, I love it! You have very fun and interesting posts that I love reading each day. Im also loving your horse ringo-What a cutie! I look forward to keep reading more about your horsey ventures :)

Also, quick question: Im trying to make the switch from hunter/jumpers, to the eventing world with my 9 year old thoroughbred. Do you have any good advice or what to except? :)

That is so awesome! I love your blog here, so it's fun that you will share your stories with a bigger audience :-)

Oh, and are you going to make it up to the Rebecca Farm event this summer with Gina? It would be fun to see you and Ringo go in person!

Thanks to you both! I'm so excited =)

Kaitlin, eventing and the eventing world are both awesome - I think eventers are on the whole very laid back and friendly people, the kind that are very willing to lend one another a helping hand. With that, though, there is also a mentality of personal self sufficiency that is pretty unique (there are not many other disciplines, for example, where asignificant number of riders at any given competition are there alone, without a trainer). It is a hard discipline but it is all worth it because there is nothing like putting three great phases together back to back!

Heidi, at this point I don't know; Rebecca Farm is definitely on the radar and would probably be the highlight of the summer (again!! It was so fabulous last year), but July is a very long way away =)

Thanks for the advice! Eventing really does just seem like it would fit my horse and I much better. As I am more laidback, and well, my horse..not so much, but he's very athletic,(and not to mention A.D.D) and eventing seems like something he would enjoy as well. The hunter/jumper world just gets a little to stuffy for me sometimes. :) The cross country portion is what has me motivated!

Thanks again, and I can't wait to read more :)

Kaitlin, you should do it! I used to only do dressage, but once I did cross country, there was no going back. It's addicting! And I'm only at BN/N level, so have a lot of room for growth :-)
